I think I did it all wrong, in my request and everything. Forgive me, I'm nervous, this is my first Yuletide, and I wanted to give you as much freedom to write something good as I could. Of course, this means I didn't actually give many extra details. That being said, I am ridiculously easy to please, so I probably will be happy with anything you write. Too bad EVERYTHING SUCKS. I hate week 2. Next week should be better.

I've decided that because I love comics, and because it sometimes seems that it's so much easier to find things to hate, I'm starting a new weekly feature. It's going to be about a single comic every week that just makes me weak in the knees with giddiness. The kind of comic that I collapse back on my bed (or whatever I'm sitting on as I read it. Sometimes I'm reading while walking and then I just hug it to my chest and grin wildly.) It might be a comic that came out that week. It might be a trade. It might be something entirely random. The point is? It's happy, and I love it.

Now, here's the important thing. This is not a chance to discuss how much you hate what I like. You're welcome to disagree, of course. You can even tell me you disagree. But instead of getting into a wankfest about how you can't believe I could possibly like that, this comic sucks and so does your mom if you give her a nickel, how about pointing me to something you find awesome? This is a post about things that are fun and happy. So lets keep to the fun and happy? Awesome? Awesome.


That being said, Batman and Robin #6 is the best Jason comic I've read since A Death in the Family.

Finally changed my NaNoWriMo tag. Because this year it hasn't been woes. It's been win.

I also finished a computer programming project today. And am generally awesome. (Six thousand of those words were written yesterday, by the way.)

FUCK YES YOU'RE READING THAT RIGHT. I'm a quarter done with my novel! I blame zoe_chan and lady_sarai. I am hideously competitive and they are both just a little bit above me. NOT RIGHT NOW, THOUGH. I AM AHEAD OF BOTH OF THEM. *cackles madly.*

...it's only a few days into NaNo and already I've clearly gone mad. This does not bode well.

Also, I've just realized that it makes more sense to cut out one of my subplots. Which I will not be doing now because I've put tons of freaking words into that subplot. But I think I'll let it die and eventually cut it when I edit.

There are a lot of fic exchanges going around now. Between Yuletide, JBBS, and Three Ships, it's a little hard to pick which ones to do!

So I feel like making all your lives (and mine) a little harder! I'm making a new fic exchange! I call it the FIC EXCHANGE (of Doom). This is why I don't usually make titles.

This one's gonna be be a little different from those other ones. See, I'm a pretty casual kind of girl. I don't like putting too much effort into things. I also like writing things for people, but I don't like being told what I HAVE to write. I inevitably am given something that technically I can write but that I'm not so good at writing. Wouldn't it be better if you could look at what your person wants and write something that works with both your interests and theirs?

So what's going to happen here is you're going to email me at ihavettk@gmail.com by November 9th. If you can't make it by then, give me a comment, but really, that's two weeks, you can make it. You will include this information!

So there were a lot of good books that came out this week, and I read them all gleefully. I mean, for one thing, Paul Tobin's Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #55 with art by Jacopo Camagni and covers by Scottie Young came out, and anyone who liked Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane should DEFINITELY read this because although there is no Mary-Jane and it is mostly from Peter's POV, it has a similar feel and also it is GREAT.

But as easy as a brilliant book like that can make me get distracted, I'm more interested in the Batman books that came out. And I'm not going to discuss how awesome the art is in Doug Moench and Kelley Jones' Batman: Unseen or how Morrison is batshit insane and yet keeps me coming back for more and Phillip Tan is kind of bad at art right now. I'm going to talk about Batman Annual #27.
